2025 Athlete Development Research Symposium

CALL FOR PAPERS

Date: Wednesday, May 14
Time: 12 – 5 pm
Where: Major League Baseball Headquarters, 1271 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020

We are excited to announce the 7th annual PAADS Athlete Development Research Symposium, which will be held, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 12-5 pm in New York City, in conjunction with the 19th Athlete Development Summit.

The Athlete Development Research Symposium will highlight innovative, practical, and timely interdisciplinary research on athlete development. Bridging academic and professional practice, the Research Symposium will allow for a robust and enlightening exchange of ideas, strategies, and tools. The Research Symposium is held immediately before the Athlete Development Summit, an annual conference that attracts leaders in athlete development from major sports organizations around the world, including athlete development specialists from the NFL, NBA, NRL, MLS, ATP, WTA, MLB, NASCAR, WWE, LPGA, NBPA,  Premier League, and Rugby League Cares. The Athlete Development Summit provides athlete development specialists with a forum for connecting with representatives of a wide variety of organizations in the profession and sharing best practices and innovations in the field of athlete development.

The PAADS Athlete Development Research Symposium is held a day before the start of the Summit and provides attendees with an opportunity to gain valuable scientific insights from the various academic disciplines that research athlete development. Furthermore, the Research Summit allows scholars to share their findings and exchange ideas with other researchers, as well as industry professionals in the athlete development space. Researchers are invited to stay for the Summit (May 15-16) where there will be several opportunities, both structured and organic, for researchers and industry professionals to network and exchange ideas. Professionals are often eager to learn more about how they can use research and evidenced-based methods to show the value of their work to their front office staff and other stakeholders at their organizations.
